Frequently Asked Questions

For your convenience, I've compiled a list of common questions. While technology allows us to share information online, please remember I'm a phone call away and I'd be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

What is Paintless Dent Repair?

A. PDR is a highly skilled process in which minor dings and dents are removed from an automobile's exterior without the need of traditional body shop repairs. The PDR process involves the use of custom designed dent removal tools that are applied to the inside skin of a vehicle's sheet metal.

PDR is the crafted art of repairing the dent without using paint, primer or bondo for repairs.

How long does it take to repair the damage?

A. Most damage can be repaired in less than hour depending on size and location of damage.

Who came up with the PDR concept?

A. Auto Manufacturers developed a way to repair small damages at the assembly plants.

What type of damage can you repair?

A. Door dings, hail damage and shallow creases as well as dents that need minor paint touch-ups.

Is there any type of damage PDR will not work on?

A. Deep damages including severly creased damage, heavily broken or missing paint and damages that are located on edges of vehicle panels.

How much does a repair cost in comparison to what a body shop would charge?

A. With I.D.R. the average cost per panel is $99.00. A body shop might charge anywhere from $300+ for the traditional repair.

Does my Auto Insurance Cover Paintless Dent Removal?

A. No, your auto insurance usually will not cover this type of repair. However, the cost we charge for repair does not come close to the deductible being charged on your policy.

Does PDR diminish the value of my vehicle?

A. No, the value of your vehicle remains the same because we maintain the original factory paint finish.

Do all inner panels need to removed to do repairs?

A. No - About 95% of vehicles do not need any panels removed to be fixed. Auto's with double pained glass will require special care.

Can motorcycle tanks, garage doors, trailers, etc. be repaired?

A. I only make repairs to automobiles. The process is very specialized and does not work the same way for other materials.
